Dressing up is all about comfort and elegance - LetsDressUp!

Bhagyashree, one of the oldest members of the LetsDressUp community, shares her professional journey and experience with LetsDressUp.

  • Tell us about yourself.

My journey started from a mid-sized town in Jharkhand, Ranchi – where I spent good 16 years of my life before moving to Delhi for my higher studies. Coming from a mid-income family, coupled with engineering-focused, studious nature, I could never focus much on my dresses & styling.

However, it was during my college days, when I first tasted independence and started to think about what I like to wear, what looks good on me. Post my higher studies, I went on to work at a firm called ZS associates for 3 years and to ISB for my MBA post that.

Post my MBA, I have been working with a consulting firm, BCG for the past 5 years. The concept which has been the most important for me at each step of my life, of my profession is having independence – of choices, of thoughts, of actions.

The force that drives me is doing the right thing – even if it is helping a handful of people, that takes up much more respect in my heart than achieving the pinnacle of success for oneself.

  • What does dressing up mean to you?

Dressing up for me started taking meaning and form after I stepped out of my comfort zone, away from my home and my parents. Today, dressing for me should symbolize independence, choice of wearing that which makes you comfortable, that which enhances you.

Having 75-80 hour/week kind of demands at work, I get very limited time to select my clothes and hence have developed my loyalty to a few designers, few brands.

  • How did you get to know about LetsDressUp, and why do you prefer wearing custom made outfits than readymade?

As I got my clothes designed & styled at LetsDressUp, I felt that Drishti understood my personality and suggested me designs which not only went by my personality, supporting my comfort, but also enhanced my style and beauty.

I started exploring custom made outfits during my wedding, and once I experienced the make, look and feel of custom made clothing, I could not think going with readymade clothing for any main occasion in my life.

  • Tell us more about your experience with LetsDressUp.

The first outfit I got stitched from LDU was for my wedding anniversary. The whole experience was so satisfying – starting with taking online measurements, to working on the design options together, to selecting the right type of material, to the final timely clothing delivery.

And the amazing part in all this was – how the dress fit me absolutely perfectly! Even after giving physical measurements, I have not seen such a nice fit clothing for myself.

And the best part in all this – all at very affordable pricing, such that I could go for custom made clothing for smaller functions and get-togethers, such as my dad’s retirement party, my friend’s wedding, annual theme-based office outing, etc.

  • What’s one message that you would like to give to all women out there?

You need to be confident, independent and just go for it! Don’t listen to others and tell yourself that it is not doable!
